The great Nadal has written history – the tenth title at Roland Garros!
Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal won the title at Roland Garros after he defeated Swiss Stena Wawrinka in the final by 6: 2, 6: 3, and 6: 1. Nadal played his tenth Roland Garros final and won a record tenth title on the Paris clay court.
At the moment when he lifted the “Musketeer Trophy”, the audience developed a large number often in the stands of the “Filip Shatrije” stadium and a banner that read: “Bravo Rafa”.
The “King of Slag” thus won the tenth French Open and became the first tennis player in the history of “white sport” with a double-digit number of one of the four Grand Slams.
He became only the second player to win ten or more titles in one Grand Slam tournament.
Before him, only Margaret Cor, who won the Australian Open for the 11th time from 1960 to 1973, succeeded.
“Bull from Mallorca” became the proud owner of “La Decime” in an incredible way, because he played 19 sets from the beginning of the tournament and won all 19. Nadal won Roland Garros for the third time without losing a set, after 2008 and 2010. He lost only 35 games in this year’s tournament.
Wawrinka, on the other hand, suffered his first defeat in his fourth Grand Slam final.
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic fell by two places and occupies the fourth position on the ATP list published today. Djokovic has 5,805 points and this is his worst ranking since October 2009, when he was in fourth place for the last time.
